Busy with Duties Outside of Class

Sometimes I had a hard time caused by far too many miscellaneous affairs than concentrate on preparing for classes.

[TEACHERS ARE OFTEN VERY BUSY WITH DUTIES THAT GO BEYOND CLASSROOM PLANNING AND TEACHING.  HOW CAN BUSY TEACHERS PREPARE FOR CRITICALLY ORIENTED LESSONS IN WAYS THAT WON'T TAKE TOO MUCH TIME FROM THEIR ALREADY BUSY SCHEDULES?]

  1. The greatest resource for me has always been my co-workers, that or google. Also, I'll often ask my students what they would like to do in class. You would be surprised with the ideas that they come up with. This also gives students the feeling that the class belongs to them, which promotes autonomy and really seems to motivate them.

  2. It is not unique but usually happens around me. No one provide me with focusing on the preparation for the classes. I would suspect of the identity about occupation for spending energy and time at meaningless affairs. Now, I can admit the role and duty as a teacher at the real education environment. Who decides which is more important? Considering the current education status, I am willing to deal with the task in a given time. To face with unexpected situations, I need to have long-term and short-term plan in advance. It helps me organize well and relieve the complain by doing the multitask.

  3. As you know, Korean teachers have a lot of busy work besides teaching. In my case, sometimes I was confused whether my job is a teacher or not. So I had been a slump. However, anyway it is an obvious fact that first duty of a teacher is to teach students. In my case, I meet my co-teacher (native teacher) to discuss our co-teaching together and make lesson plans once a week. We prepared some meterials and good ideas for class each. And then we talk to each other about our class. I also have lunch with my co-teacher. So it is very good chance to chat affectionately with my co-teacher.
Last, in work, I think that it is important to prioritize. And then I can save my time.

  4. Yes It is bothering a lot. Last year, I had to come to school on sunday to finish the paperwork cause I was in charge of two,gym part and englsh part.Absolutely annoying.. Luckily, this year only one. Unless if it is important, I do it roughly.. That is the way I am freed out from the boring paperwork.
